After a year of writing, playing and travelling I was finally ready to record another EP. I wanted to make something that was a step up from Tiny Spark and that showed how my music had grown in the past year. For those of you who are wondering, I wasn’t ready to make an album.  I didn’t feel I had enough songs and I felt that I needed to experience life a bit more.  

 I recorded ‘All in the Golden Afternoon’ with Matt Fell from Love Hz studios who I had previously recorded with. My decision to record with him again was because of the amazing way he can add something more to a song. Something that you can feel and not just hear. Also working on the EP were Josh Schuberth, Daniel Conway, Melody Pool and Tim Wedde. Each of these wonderful people added something unique and special to the record and what you hear is part of them.

The songs on the EP were written all at different times and in different places. Some of them are new and others are a couple of years old but they were all written with a meaning and a purpose. I didn’t write them with recording in mind.  They were all written when I was inspired -  when I was happy or when I was sad. What you hear is me and what is in my head.

 The title of the EP was taken from a poem written by Lewis Carroll at the beginning of the Alice in Wonderland book and the artwork was also based around that idea.  I was so lucky to have Simone Pain working with me on my artwork again. I couldn’t have found a better person to recreate my music through art! For as long as I can remember I have loved Alice in Wonderland. I have read and collected the books repeatedly. When I was younger I wouldn’t respond to anyone unless they called me by my ‘real’ name - Alice. It would cause quite confusion when my parents would receive compliments about their little girl Alice!

I put so much of myself into these songs and recording this EP in the hope that you will find something within these songs that helps you or just makes you smile. Thank you so much for also being a part of this with me. I wouldn’t be able to do this without your support and your kind words.
